Hello!

I had a Seagate 500GB HDD a ST500DM002 with firmware KC45, A good day my pc was crashed and now appears another firmware (11171413), another capacity (8 GB), and another model (ST_M13FQBL). The unit is not usable (the BIOS detects it but not windows) and doesn't allow to make a low level format. Seagate Not offers information in this respect and it doesn't exist new upgrades for KC45 firmware.

I found the firmware in here (HDD GURU) but I Not understand how to install it, CAN YOU HELP ME PLEASE!!! :( This mystery will have solution?.

Please start by reading here :

This will show you why you can't just flash a new firmware on the drive.

Your drive is broken and if you need the data inside of it you should seek advice of a data recovery firm, as there are many causes or possible causes for the failure of your drive and those have to be adressed to get your data back.

If the data is not needed just buy a new drive and move on.
