WD3200B EVT / Strange vibration sound on power-on

Hello HDD Gurus

Could I have your opinion on where to look next on the following situation?

I have the following 2.5'' drive which stopped working:
WD3200B EVT-22ZCT0
Parameters: LBA 625142448
R/N: 701499
DATE: 06 SEP 2008
DCM: HBNV2BB

I turn on the drive and a small 'vibriation'-like-tune is heard. Not a click-clak, but like an attempt for the motor to start. After the tune is repeated four times, it then stops. I cannot feel any vibration by putting my hand on the drive.

I tried to start the PC-3000 utility but it reports drive not ready. Even when I manually start the utility, selecting the 'Scorpio' family, it still reports an error about techno mode not ready.

Any ideas, if I'm looking into 'open-the-case' case, or something else I could try before start looking for clean-room?

Thank you very much in advance
KC

Stiction (heads stuck to platter) or heads mashed into ramp.
