 Post subject: Seagate 500GB No Terminal Access

Hi,

There are already few threads on the same problem, but there was no solution or hint for these drive, anyway i will try with a new one.

The drive is Seagate Desaru family;

ST9500423AS
FW: 0005DEM1

Spins up comes to ready state in pc3k but no terminal access, terminal output here;

EarlySpinup Enabled
Rst 0x10M
ExecuteSpinRequest
LED:00000067 FAddr:00380338
LED:00000067 FAddr:00380338
LED:00000067 FAddr:00380338

drive doesn't spin down after LED errors.
Any hint !! highly appreciate your reply.

Is it a "for Dell or HP manufacturer" drive? Can tell from the P/N I think.

On the label itself, any dell or hp mentioning what-so-ever?

Sorry, I overlooked/ommited a small detail. In the firmware, it does show it is for Dell.
Either way, I was looking for something that does not apply in this situation.
