Hi

I have this HDD with bad PCB (can't spin the platters and it gets very hot).
I have a MK6021GAS as the most similar donor. I put PCB on pacient and it spins.

I have tried to read CP from pacient but it doesn't reach RDY (only PCB).

Can I use the PCB from MK6021GAS and swap chip?

The chip is the one with the F00xxx sticker on it, right?

Hi PCLAB,

Manually load the utilility in PC-3000, might take a few min since it's not ready. Click on the terminal tab, press enter, power cycle the pcb and quickly press enter again, that should force it into a ready state. Then you can read the CP and reprogram the other board.

If you need help let me know, I can TV in and do it for you. Should only take a minute.

Oh yeah, and make sure that you have the terminal connected.

I have tried that already. Only with PCB connected, it get's BSY for a few minutes, then all the lights go on and can't do nothing..
Can't read CP...

as you said, we can build new pcb for toshiba, if original pcb is missed.
