Hello,

I am having similar problems with 5400.6 family drives.
Heads seem fine but the drive is always busy.

When remove PCB and connect only PCB to PC3000, PCB goes ready but when I run the utility stays on busy status. On terminal screen just have LED:000000CC FAddr:00259965
Cannot run any commands on termial screen as I cannot access Z> or T>

Any idea what could be?

On this family, 90%+ of the time is the wrong assumption.

When I disconnect pcb from heads, but keep motor connected and power on disk, turn on terminal ^Z got the follwoing messages:

Yes, heads aren't fine. Possible some media damage.

How do you think it failed? Anything out of the ordinary? Any drops?
How long has it been in use? Is it on 24/7?
Have you ran any health tests on it? If yes, have you seen anything of concern over time?

Etc.

Customer said the disk hasn´t dropped but the disk clicks before becomes ready.

It's heads issue

I think heads issue too, and maybe media damage.
