Hello guys! This is ST3000DM001, Grenada family. This hdd's symptom was like pending issue. After power on, register on DRD, DSC, but can't recognized. So i tried change Edit HDD ID like this image. Attachment: edit hdd id.jpg [ 55.98 KiB | Viewed 7393 times ] Almost of pending issue can solve this way. But not work. Than i tried translator regen, use this command. m0,6,2,,,,,22 Before enter this command, i backup modules. After enter this command, HDD recognize well. But can't access lots of sectors with this massage in log. Attachment: error.jpg [ 13.29 KiB | Viewed 7393 times ] ================================================ PowerState = IDLE1 PowerState = IDLE2 HighPowerMode TCC:0021 Status 0001 Req 0002 Starting LBA of RW Request=0000087F95 Length=FFFFFFFF ProcessRWError -Read- at LBA 0000087F95 Sense Code=43110081 Unrecoverable Error Reported Unrecoverable Read Verify Error Reported TCC:0021 Starting LBA of RW Request=0000087F95 Length=FFFFFFFF ProcessRWError -Read- at LBA 0000087F95 Sense Code=C3160080 Unrecoverable Error Reported Unrecoverable Read Verify Error Reported PowerState = IDLE1 HighPowerMode Status 0001 Req 0002 Starting LBA of RW Request=0000087F95 Length=FFFFFFFF ProcessRWError -Read- at LBA 0000087F95 Sense Code=C3160080 Unrecoverable Error Reported Unrecoverable Read Verify Error Reported Dither Dither PowerState = IDLE1 PowerState = IDLE2 ================================================ I think this case is not head problem. Becaus, i tried copy by build head channel. All head can read, but all head can't read lots of sectors. Finally i copy hdd with jump option, 100000sector. Than i can copy 85% of hdd. But i want copy almost 100%. Becaus this hdd is member of raid array. I think this case is translator problem. Increase like this case recently, in seagate hdd. Need help plz. |

I know this is an old thread, but did you ever figure it out? I've got one here responding very similarly. First power up after replacing the heads (which had crashed off platter when they missed the ramp) went well, it ID'd and was able to read some sectors. Then after it had to be power cycled it's giving this in terminal: Code: Rst 0x40M MC Internal LPC Process Spin Up TCC-001F RECOV Servo Op=0900 Resp=0005 RECOV Servo Op=0600 Resp=0005 RECOV Servo Op=005B Resp=0005 RECOV Servo Op=015B Resp=0005 RECOV Servo Op=005B Resp=0005 (DOS) Table Read FAIL DOS: MAGIC CONFIG NUMBER MISMATCH (DOS) Requesting File Save RECOV Servo Op=015B Resp=0005 (DOS) Table Read FAIL RECOV Servo Op=006B Resp=0005 MCMainPOR: EXCEPTION: SIM aborted prior to MCMT read MCMainPOR: EXCEPTION: POR Failed General MCMainPOR: Feature Disabled... I do have resources backed up if it helps. Any ideas what I can try to get it responding again? |

If so, then you need to find a proper head stack and restore the SA. |
