The immediate impression I have is that Ace don't answer questions in their own forum. Around half of the questions have no replies from anyone.

Maybe they have opened the forum in the hope that you will start answering for them?

I always wondered why Ace's customers came to HDD Guru for advice about how to use Ace's products. Now I understand.

Please don't take this personally because I am not having a go at you, or picking on you specifically. It is not just "third world" countries that have this problem. Even developed countries have this same problem. Please don't play the poverty card.

This game is very difficult and people just don't want to spend the cost of data recovery. They can't understand why you can buy a flash pen for £10 or a hard drive for £40 but when the media packs in they need to spend at least £150 to get the data back.

I had a guy come in with a flash pen that the controller had stopped working. I explained to him the chip would need to be lifted and it would be costly. He couldn't understand why if these flash pens are mass produced he couldn't just get the same model and swap the chip over. When I told him the price to recover the data, he was surprised and said he only had £10 on him and thought I could help him out with that.

And this is from a developed country, not third world.

I don't understand what you're getting at.

If you have a problem with a particular product, then it stands to reason that you would ask for help at the manufacturer's forum or via the manufacturer's tech support channels. If the manufacturer answers your question, then there would be no reason to repost it elsewhere. The fact that such questions are reposted to other forums suggests that the manufacturer was either unable to help, or couldn't be bothered to.

That said, now that the forum is open, potential customers will be able to see the level of support they can expect, so perhaps Ace will participate more.

Ace forum in English is almost dead (in contras for Russian forum). Support usually don't answer for question. I think they should work on this problem - probably there is more owner of PC3K outside Russia, than inside, so it could be good PR for them. I really don't understand why it is happen.

Support ACE physically can not answer all the questions.
Therefore, users themselves must help each other.
Probably in Russian forum users are more responsive than in English.

But on the whole, to gain access to a closed forum,
all waiting for a miracle, and all the answers.

But HDD piece such that they constantly need to learn.
ACE can answer questions related to software problems.
Do they also need the HDD study, and they also do not know all the possible problems.

DFL does not support as many models as PC3000.
Therefore, a more narrow focus allows you to understand in more detail.

There is such a risk, if ACE pricing policy will not change.

This mentioned in a number of places on ACE Lab website, but I believe it would be reasonable to re-post the same here:
ACE Lab forum is not an official help desk, it is mostly a discussion place for users and enthusiasts.

Tech support team answers questions at the support center:
