I'm curious to hear peoples opinions of the quality of the instructions that come with the new the unit.

Are you willing to pay more for PC3K products so that they can hire full time manual writers with each program update?

I have seen bad or no manuals with products. So Ace manuals are way ahead of anything else out there.
Some manuals for Salvation were written by Ann Leflore (hope spelling is correct), which I may have seen one or two. Those are pretty good as well.

Why? Isn't the price of the product enough to justify a decent manual? It's not like Ace is producing freeware.

Yes, manuals are good.
For a beginner they alone will provide an ample reserve of knowledge to study and practice.

There is a frequent problem that users don't read even good manuals. :)

Ace "English" manuals are often miles behind Russian versions.

The manuals are fine for newbies. My only gripe is not knowing exactly what a new feature does. Ace will change the DE program to a newer version and not mention what a check box does. An updated manual with brief descriptions of what some check boxes do in DE would be greatly appreciated. The wording of certain check boxes can be understood many different ways. Otherwise the updates are useless without a brief mention of what they do.

I agree with this, too. Takes some digging and testing to find out what some of the new stuff does. Some help with better understanding and tuning would be very helpful.

PS. Manuals are fine for newbies, but they need to have proper background or else they will end up with a huge disaster.
