Post subject:  Samsung 3.5 Head replacement and compatibility of donors!

Hello everyone!

Please forgive me if there is another post related with this one.

My question and doubts are related to Samsung 3.5 HDDs and the head replacement, not the procedure but the compatibility of donor drives.

I don't have much experience with this drives but ive changed some heads with no succes and i would like to hear or read your experience and we share our experience we might help each other.

In conclusion , we can use this post and gather information about compatibility and head replacement of this kind of drives.

For example i have this drive (picture) and the drive spins up with knocking sounds. Also i cant initialize the drive by changing head map so i believe i need a donor drive because its more likely to be a head stack problem.

Thank you all.

Samsung aren't generally fussy at all, but in my experience the HD103SI is particularly susceptible to media damage. :-(

Could you share based on which label data do you search your donor drive?

Thank you
