Hello Seniors ,
I have received one case of a WDC My Passport Ultra .Most of The Once That Have Been Flowing Into The Lab Were With/Without Self Encryption And Some With SED " Locked SA Also " . I Have Been Doing All Of those .Yesterday i have received a WDC on which a user has protected the drive with a password .Password is known .I Wanted To Ask You How Can i Handle Such a Case .As The Drive Was Not Working With The User I Am suspecting It To Have Usual Self Encryption [ Might Be Might Be Not ] Or Locked SA With Some Issue in SA Or Head Or Might Be Not Locked But With Some Issue In SA/Head . I Did The Following And i Am Stuck i Do Not Know How To Proceed .

1 : Read The ROM From USB PCB
2 : Programmed The Rom To SATA Board
3 : Attached SATA Board To Patient And Power Up .

Now when i am at Autodetect screen it asked me this hdd is password protected and gives me a dialogue box That Says "Open HDD And Remove Password " . Both Of them Fail .The HDD Does Have a VCD Partition [ Could Be Smartware But i Do Not Have a Clue ] .Please Help Me Understand And Solve This Case .

if you follow the procedure to remove SED you'll see for yourself if it's SED (if it's SED the V near "Self encrypted drive (SED)" will be selected (and vice versa))

Jermy ,
I Do Not Think The Software Says Anything At Autodetect Screen [ For SED ] . Am I Correct Or Wrong .Have You Understood My Problem In The First Place .

PS : Might Be i Need To Do a SED Unload First And Then Get Rid Of This User Password .My Question is That Can PC3k Remove Passwords On External Drives Like The Ultra That Have Been Set By Users With Their Own Passwords ? .

I did ask for my post to be deleted.
It wouldn't be of any help to you anyhow as i didn't properly read your post. When i figure out what the problem was i deleted the post and asked for it to be removed.

Happy that you have your issue solved.
