Clicking is never a good sign Can you post terminal log ? The usual questions: does it spin down after clicking or stays spinning ? if spins down probably heads if stays spinning, Maybe SMP flags issue |

(It's not PC3K) you didn't answered the question jermy wrote: does it spin down after clicking or stays spinning ? because messing around when there is head problems is never a good idea. |
