Hi,

I hope you are doing fine.

I am getting this message over the log: Register Error Not Set!!! and it is looking as bad sectors since it is showing black.

It was giving system errors the HDD in the lap top but I do not understand how got so damaged but I am wondering I can do something to save something, currently is running to see if I can recover something but it is going very slow since most of it looks damaged.

HDD Model: WDC WD5000BPVT-60HXZT

Try to apply the slow fix (patch mod 02 - clear RE-LO) and attempt to do a head map in DE and disable heads (try to copy with just one head at a time).

Check modules as well but at this point i would bet on a patch of bad sectors with slow issue or a dying head.

I do not know how to do this? "apply the slow fix (patch mod 02 - clear RE-LO)" or "patch of bad sectors with slow issue or a dying head"

I already tried to build head maps and all heads look the same as black sectors

Disable relocation. PC-3000 Marvell tool should have an option to do so with one click.

Check all modules.

Check S.M.A.R.T.

If you have pending sectors then RE-LO have entries and drive is slow and stuck in BSY (like in your pictures) so you have to apply the slow fix.

:D :D :D

Read page 48 of the Marvell_en PC3K English manual. Point 5.3

....

ON PC3K Marvel utility when the drive is NOT BSY and you have green on RDY and DSC go to Tests - Work with service area - solve slow responding problem.

Thank you all for the help!!!

Looks like some of the issues was the destination drive, PC3000 and windows talking each other... destination drive was online and looks like Windows was stopping from talking PC3000 with destination drive...

Great!!! "pcimage" helped me for free... Thanks for the teaching lessons... I am just starting learning on this and I appreciate the time as I know he was pretty busy and hungry, and he took the time to help me...

I really appreciate this kind of things...

Thank you all for the help... I really appreciate your time and help...
