I have ST500LT012 the drive spin for few second then stop and the head is moving (not stuck). then it gets DRD DSC.
but when I try to read ID i stuck on BSY DRD DSC until I power OFF/ON the hdd.

and when I start utilities this is what I get:

Overlay wasn't loaded. Probably, due to some damages in SA.

I suspect bad media but I'm curious why the "SPINUP FAILED" message. The drive spins up fine with HDA isolated, so it's not seized spindle.

Because this massage relates to servo recalibration, not to SPIN UP literally. And yes, you have to think about heads replacement, current heads are not good with big probability.
