From your picture, it looks like the drive has been opened.
Did you open it?
Did you maintain clean room conditions?
What did you see inside?
What was the drive behavior before you opened it?

Do tell. Don't be shy.

The more questions you ask, the quicker you will learn :) Don't worry about asking, besides who cares what we think about you?

Adding to northwind's questions.

What's the history on the drive.
What was it doing originally.
Can you post a picture of the donor label.

Guys your answer are really really kind. as you know many people doesnt want to share their experience .so i feel lucky when you give me an answer thank you very much for your patience :D .

according to customer the HDD tarted to make weird sound. i thought bad heads so i prefer to do not power on in order to avoid more damage,
and ta daaaaan platter sratches.
the rotation of the motor made the top ring scratch with the cover surface of the HDD.. part of the surface turned like a orange peel.
and then while rotating went on the heads and then scratches.....

sorry for my bad english. im not native speaker

the donor heads seems compatible. iw as confident.... but after i tested on the patient. heads stop to work .
maybe broken due of the scratches on the platters....... i guess

I'd call those are scores rather than scratches. If you have a green light and tilt the drive I think you'll find the top surface will look like someone has been ice skating on it.

Assuming there's no physical damage to the top cover.

The centre ring damage was probably caused by the head arm contacting it.
Heads won't be able to track past the scores or defect.
The defect looks like a head was stuck and then ripped off.

As I understand your response, you have tried putting the heads back in the donor and they now don't work, they have probably been damaged on the patient. Did the original HSA have any physical damage or heads missing?

Options now are limited, you will need to check the other platter surfaces for damage and contamination before anything else. Unless the client is very serious and accepts the risks/probabilities about their recovery I hate to say it but it may be best to stop at this point.

Yeah, it doesn't look good at all.

I think this drive needs to be disassembled to have other surfaces inspected; based on that, it will be either unrecoverable or if other surfaces look good, then a partial recovery might be possible. I wouldn't hold my breath, though.

By the way, I've never seen the washer getting peeled off like this.
