yes, if you don't get any output over serport, then there is likely some hw damage. Fix that first or move rom chip to a working pcb.

Yes there could be internal track or other electronic issue. Unfortunately manual chip reading is not possible so I have finally given up.
Thanks a lot.

Hi pepe
Unfortunately I can't remove ROM from 2.5" disk PCB (can only desolder TSOP type desktop roms) .
Actually I don't know which type of ROM chip this model has .

ROM chip is typical serial flash but in a WLCSP-8 P8 package. Tiny but possible to move or read via external programmer.

I have a similar issue here with a Seagate with Model No. ST1000LM035 FW: RKM2

When I Power on Drive I get the following error

Boot0x80M
LED:0x000000BB FAddr:0x00005807

When I tried ROM via Terminal I get the following error..

Boot Code: Can not get the current address!

I was able to Read ROM Via Programmer and Write to Donor PCB, still didn't work, and did not Power any other PCB.

I tried to import RAP, CAP SAP and IAP from Donor ROM.. it gives following error,

Boot Code: Can not get current address!

I called ACELAB TS for help, I was told "BootFW segment is damaged.
We can not fix this problem"

I have attached the Original ROM read from Programmer.

If anyone can help check it out..

Thank you
