Toshiba DT01AC050 (Hitachi ) Head cheacking

I would like to know whether there is anyway to check Head strength or head failure of this disk.
Its 10 year old obviously its life was over ,but I could read / backup modules but while imaging drive shows bad sectors.
This is a single head model .I tried to read through active pc3K (original toshiba has g-list correction feature) but still same symptoms.
Its definately not a complete failure as I can read but very slowly .Before updating customer & outsource this drive for head transplant is there anyway I can confirm its indeed head failure or some other issue

Thanks to gps31 from india who modified RDMT & CHNM modules which has improved reading speed to 25mb/sec.
I have been able to conclude that head was not completely failed.
