I have a WDC WD5000LPVX-08V0TT5 500GB HDD, but when I connect it to a PC using PC-3000, it only shows 160GB.

Has it been set a DCO / HPA?
That would explain the reduced size.
Check also if mod 02 has been modified.

Why are you using pc3k SAS instead SATA for this drive?
