All

I am working on improvements for files.hddguru.com; it may become unavailable for some of you for 4—24 hours (due to DNS record change). After all changes, there will be an FTP account for uploads.

I will also add special categories for PC-3000 (and other software) files.

That's what I really appreciate in Dmitriy.........listen to the problems and suggestions, and becomes engaged in solving them. Improving continously is some thing, which must be present in a manager, and that is. :D

I am finishing my hard work on the new files.hddguru.com web file storage. I have already rewritten about a half of the old phpATM code (security and bug fixes, usability improvements, etc). Everything will be done by Monday.

I will also set up an FTP server for big file uploads (which I will then manually extract (if packed) and move to files.hddguru.com). Details will be posted in this topic.

If you have any comments or suggestions, then better let me know right away because right now I am in the right mood to produce a lot of PHP code :-)

I have finished working on files.hddguru.com, and now it is back online. Go check it out! 8)

Uploads:
You can upload files from your local computer. For uploads to work you will need to create an account (takes just seconds, there is no account activation procedure).

Or, there is an FTP server running:
FTP Address: ftp://files.hddguru.com
FTP Login: uploads@files.hddguru.com (you have to enter the whole login, including the '@' symbol and the domain name files.hddguru.com)
FTP Password: hddguru

When you upload something onto the FTP, please drop me a line via private messages and I will then manually move the files into files.hddguru.com.

Your comments and suggestions are welcome.

Dmitry

Of course you can, this is Internet, and I cannot really restrict anyone to download anything. However if you overload the server by downloading lots of files (>500 at a time), you will get banned automagically :-). The script checks if user's actions are similar to those that whole-site-download-programs produce and if it finds such activity, it bans the IP address immediately.

Yeah you're right.
Is there currently any ftp account from which I could download FW databases?

files.hddguru is awesome but you need to download each file you need manually.
