Hi guys, I've got a samsung SP2514N which was fallen. The spindle was seized an also the platters were not completely horizontal anymore. I managed to get it rotating again and the horizontal movement is also much better now. The drive spins up, tics once, then a whole time nothing, and then it starts clicking without end. The terminal report in PC3KUDMA gives me this: lltst 0000 SpnOk spd: 0000 0000 0000 H: +00000 ADC: FFFE DAC: 8088 SK C: 000175D7 ENG>SRV> SvoTbl Loaded Single Rty:0001 Single Rty:0002 Single Rty:0003 Single Rty:0004 Calib Fail BF FdtTbl Loaded What is the conclusion? Heads damaged, to much movement of the platters... This is a 2 platter drive, so platter swap is to delicate i guess. Any assistance is appreciated. Regards, Dobre |
