Hi,
if u have a genuine tool, U should also have some info about what problems may cause such symptoms and also have some idea that in 95% of the cases it is not possible to repair the drive using ANY SW.

Diagnose properly, then fix. I always say... If your only tool is a hammer, your problems start looking like nails.

Hello Laura,
why would he spend his money unless sure about it will help? (I understand U of course

, but he won't be very happy with a tool not appropriate for this particular case... This is not your interest either.
Since I believe 90% of clicking is caused by bad head it would be needless to buy any FW repair tool in the first turn I think.
Good diagnosis is the most important thing in this field.
If one doesn't have the faintest idea what's going on in a HDD he should not mess with it until he gains some knowledge and the right way of thinking. This won't come at a glance, for this U need to spend years in electronics and HDD technology. This cannot be gained on a forum.

Hi
I tried to debug my hdd with PC3000 and the log window clearly says that NVRAM is corrupted! Perhaps, head stack is also out of order but NVRAM corruption is real.
Best regards

If you swap PCB then NVRAM is likely ot be different, and incompatible not corrupt. You need to access this HDD using the patient NVRAM.
I do believe that even with the correct NVRAM on a donor PCB the HD will still click. There are around 4 opinions that there is HDA damage, 4 opinions from 4 different experts who's judgement i would trust.
Put original PCB back, and replace heads. Good luck
