I am trying to recover data by using a heads map with a seagate drive.

When I try to make a heads map using PC3000, it gives a warning that CERT has to be loaded to HDD RAM for it to do this.

Will this damage data in any way or affect the recovery of data? I cannot see this in any of the manuals.

I have the older PCI PC3000 (not UDMA).
