Hi, i'm new to this forum, i have a maxtor 6E40L0 with a corrupted firmware. I'm new with PC3K I have done all test with pcmx_pkr and i found several corrupted modules. I have P-LIST module corrupted (18h). Doing data scanning of FM structure it found several errors in 000804B0 and in 48c604b0. How to restore them? i caught the modules (SMB) but they not load as the others, must i start in normal mode the hard disk? HELP! |

These types of posts scare me. If the data is important send it to a professional if your unsure or contact acelabs. |

You are using the PCI version which is now quite old and much more difficult to use. Also, PLIST is corrupt and if this is replaced, repaired incorrectly or cleared your data will shift. If you are unsure of the difference between SMB and RPM you should not mess with either, and also to ask if disk needs to be in normal or safe mode shows that you should definately get some help. Dont you have any support from Acelab? Is 18h unreadable, or is header/checksum damaged? Can you select Module Recovery option to repair header if thats the problem? If data is needed then you should practise on disks where data is not important first. any mistakes could make the data unrecoverable forever. |
