Guru..Don't you feel, that sometimes you become a bit over "To The Point"?
Or is it something, the native language of "Cosmos"? :)

Should have been more specific.

I need to find a supply of 1.8" CE-ATA ZIF (CE-ATA) connectors. For specs goto http://www.ce-ata.org/specifications.asp

I'm not looking for CF+ 1.8" ZIF which was kindly linked to

I have also attached a picture if you cannot understand my cosmos speech ;o)

We get ours from esskabel.de, but we also use USB enclosures for ZIF too.

Does anyone know what this is? I guess know one has a scobby do!

This is ZIF connector
it has different type for different drives (but some drives have similar connector, like Toshiba and Hitachi)
I know two types of ZIF connectors and I have both adapters, just google it and you will find what you are looking for

PS: it might be also regular CF pin-connector (like on 1" drives) but it is hard to see from your picture. If so you would need third type of adapter

Kasmar!

Ok know one knows....

I will keep searching. I have all of the other adapters and converters. As this is a new interface spec I guess it will take time before a suitable product is ready :O(

"Mr Spokk, the women on your planet are logical. That's the only planet in the galaxy that can make that claim."

Still wrong connector :O) The CE_ATA uses MMC electrical schema, it's not ATA interface (PATA/PATA)

"He he so true, unfortunately logical woman are'nt so exciting, as they are...logical "
Okey then it's the same standard that Hitachi 1" drives use.
I had one of those 1" microdrives in and to fix that one I bought a Usb 8Gb hdd and took it appart and used that interface, not optimal to work via the Usb interface as I rather had worked with the ATA interface...but it did it's purpouse :)

Hi Guru,

I'm also looking for the same adapter now (the small zif type). Any luck finding one? It seems others here don't really understand the difference, the adapter you need uses a smaller cable than a standard ZIF connector.

Hi, and sorry for the delay.
The drive I repaired was a Hitachi HMS361008M5CE00 Microdrive.
I bought one of those:

And then I took the usb-drive apart and use that connector as an interface.

i am holding in my hand the same HDD in the picture, it is from my 160GB ipod. the connector inside was it a ribbon cable converting the ce-ata to a standard ZIF HDD interface. because of the largesize i am worried the controler inside will not recognize the drive.
