Links like these give just a 'rough' idea of SA structure, and is in now way enough information to turn a newbie into a pro. Also, the information is not accurate as most drives have different SA structures. Some HDDs do not store all this information on SA, some do not have specific individual defect tables named as clearly as PLIST and GLIST, also UBA is not a generic term for SA on all HDDs. I could go on, but I will not.
And what is this supposed to mean??
The smaller the amount of data stored in the SA, the more likely it is to replace with parts, PCB’s and heads.
Maybe I am wrong and tomorrow you will be a pro from reading all this!!
