Hi all,
just landed on this board. My boss asked me to take care about data recovery in our company. I need to budget the cost for setting up everything we would need so we need:
-setting up the clean room
-hardware/tools
-software
-training
Do you know any company that provide such service? Even a message in PM it's fine! Thanks

$30000 - $100000 depending on the size and how many people you want to accustom.
Have you done any research? Data Recovery may be a bit more costly and difficult then what your boss realizes. Also, there really is no proper training available. Some vendors provide training on their product and some provide a poor data recovery 101, but for the most part you are on your own with that. If it would be that easy, then everyone and their grandmother would have a data recovery shop. Please consider these things.
good luck!

Agreed. Unless you have a serious volume of data recovery work annually, you would be far better off entering into a relationship with a reputable and professional DR company in your area. We deal with nearly all the multinational corporates and government in our area and none of them would have the requirements for their own internal DR lab.

Well, that's an acceptable cost...
The problem is..we can not use external companies for this. That's the reason why we need to set up this internal...that's not my decision

If the boss isn't going to accept the cost, he's going to trust someone else doing the work...
I have done some reseach but looking for "clean room" I found plenty of vendor but without any elettronic equipment for data recovery on hard drive. Just clean room...
Thanks

Why not try and recruit an experienced DR Engineer for your company so? He/She will be able to help you build a lab from the ground-up and provide information on all the equipment necessary.
PM me if you need further information.

Some things are available, other not. You will need a trusted and under NDA person in your company, full time or on demand. Or, if you want your personnel completely trained and formed about DR, general standard procedures on common drive families etc. - this will forcefully include proprietary know how - for me it won't be under € 400'000 + taxes.

You may buy clean table instead of clean room.
Of course, when you work with HDA it is necessary to have a specially
equipped room. But it is sufficient to use clean table. It is not
expensive devices which have the required clear air on the workspace.

The problem is that clean room by itself doesn't do the job.
