Hi to all,
Find this info :
The motor shaft is secured at both ends to reduce system-induced vibration and stabilize platters for accurate tracking, during read and write operations.

WD says that a standard drive can make vibration in normal work.
I was a little bit suprise because i am making some platter exchange in Seagate and sometimes i can have a little vibration, and other times when the vibration is a little high i am having problems in cloning the disk.
Is this normal situation just in WD drives, and the new models 2TB have this problem solved by the WD engineres.

My opinion is this:
This is only "bullshit".

This is only a marketing technique.
Yes, the 2 side tightening helps to stabilize the rotation, but in 2TB drive is because the WD can't solve this in onther way.

So they are "forced" to use the 2 screw and they needed to say something and this way the best solution: figure out something interesting name and call this as new technology - wich have all the IBM, maxtor and more drives back in the '00.

Right, sounds like all this means is they started putting a screw through the spindle from the top (WHAT A TECHNOLOGICAL BREAKTHROUGH)
