smart monitoring is not available

I have this turned on in bios but it still doesn't work. Where do I go to get the controller drivers. I went on both the hdd and motherboard web sites but neither one of them had any updated drivers to download. In Device Manager I see (ide ata/atapi controllers) 2 IDE Channels and 1 Standard Dual Channel PCI IDE Controller are these the ones I should update? Can someone help find out what is wrong?

Vista
HDD: WDC WD16 00JS-22NCB1 SCSI Disk Device
MotherBoard: ELITEGROUP MCP61PM-AM 1.0

I have tried many different smart monitoring software to check the condition of my hdd but they all report that smart monitoring is not available.

Your board appears to be using NVIDIA's MCP61P chipset.

It appears to have one Primary IDE socket plus four SATA connectors:

In the "Integrated Peripherals" section of your BIOS setup, how are the following configured?

Onboard IDE Controller
Serial-ATA 0
SATA Mode Select
nVidia RAID Setup

FWIW, here are Vista drivers:
