Seagate headstack replacement - how critical is firmware

September 17th, 2010, 12:53

I have a Seagate ST3250820A with firmware 3.AAC that needs a new HSA, but all I can find are 3.AAE. In referencing the documentation on the forum, a firmware match is needed in HSA replacements for Seagate - is this true, or does it only apply to older ST?
