Does anyone know if these Seagate cables are direct SATA connector compatible - means that one can attach whatever 2.5" HDD direct to this cable without extra power needed? The image isn't vwery clear but connector looks very much like SATA+Power.
Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex STAE100 cable - USB 2.0
Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex STAE103 cable - eSATA
Some Chinese Ebay sellers have suitable USB cables for 2.5" SATA HDD but the manufacturing quality may be questionable.

Some 2.5" drives will not get enough power just from a USB slot
The eSATA one is actually eSATAp

Yea- it looks like a normal SATA to USB for 2.5" drives. Quite strange design.. but its simple and thats why its kindof genuis. It allows to work with SATA to USB3 / SATA to FIREWIRE.. or jsut directly inside your computer or E-SATA for full performance.
Nice
