Hi does anyone know how to check the CHS of a harddrive?

I don't believe that is a valid consideration for modern drives. LBA addressing has long ago replaced CHS addressing.

That said, older OS-es partition a drive by assuming that it has 255 logical heads and 63 logical sector/track, with the number of cylinders being computed by dividing the total number of LBAs by 255 x 63.
