WD Module problems...

February 7th, 2011, 15:48

Hi all,
Have a WD Drive which was dropped and obviously now wont mount.
Taken it to a Recovery Company here in South Africa who have managed to get most of the way there in sorting it out. Have no clue what they're talking about but all they need is module 32 to access and fix the drive?
Here are the drives details:

MDL:WD15EARS-22Z5B1 (it has to be this exact model, else it wont work.)
s/n: WMAVU3634775

Any ideas where to get this or anyone got it?

Cheers

Riaan

To tell you the truth in this one if it is a good repair company who does DR work they will not ask their client to find the mod for them to use in this one. They will do it themselves. Are you sure you took it to a DR company who has the proper tools to do this work with?

Hi,
they are one of the best in South Africa, but the problem is they are the third company I've taken it to the others couldn't get anywhere with the drive. The only reason I'm getting involved is because I really need this information off the drive and it's getting to a stage where they also might give up. All they need is an identical drive or just the right module to access t
his WD.
Everywhere we source this info we get for the model drive WD15EARS-00Z5B1. but need WD15EARS-22Z5B1.

Phoned WD USA, Singapore, China...
Any other ideas?

Riaan.
