What HDD should I buy?

February 10th, 2011, 23:39

Is there a hard drive that is easy to repair if broken? Easy to recover data, swap parts, etc. I have done a fair bit of research and found that Toshiba is among the worst in those categories, but what is the best? Thanks for the info guys. Cheers!

I was luckily able to recover my data from the network storage backup that I have set on automatic. I almost completely forgot about it, but was so happy when I remembered. I am in the market for a new external HDD though, and just thought some guys here would be able to recommend the best one. Thanks again though, I'll definitely look into the once a day thing.

According to the following study, Hitachi is the most reliable brand at the moment, followed by Samsung. It doesn't say anything about ease of repair, though.
