There is no such thing as "best", otherwise everyone would (of course) be using the same "best" setup. There are just different compromises in terms of performance, complexity, cost, compatibility, power consumption, ease of administration etc. etc. Also, remember that RAID redundancy is not the same as having backups, and remember that RAID 0 has no redundancy.
