actually i like wellon programmers , it support a lot of chips and reliable
about test cable .IMHO i prefer to take the chip to the programmer

I have HiLo Systems programmers/testers, the adapters are not an issue.
Expensive but excellent stuff, never had a single problem.

Try Genius G540 great stuff and costs only 40$

I have used a Willem USB programmer for ages. Can't remember it has ever let me down for HDD work.

I recently picked up a MiniPro TL866... just because it was dirt cheap, and I was in shopping modus.

Down Under Dave from EEVblog did recently review this unit. I reckon his conclusion was the unit offers a lot of functionality for it's low price (review video found in first post - run youtube full screen to see program interface):

Watch out for the latest serial flash memories. Some are 1.8V devices, eg EN25S40.

Those eBay programmers appear to handle only 3.3V and maybe 2.5V devices.
