NTFS or EXT filesystem with bad sector skipping from defect

May 2nd, 2008, 18:26

Hi,
it is possible to modify an NTFS / EXT(2/3) partition in this way that it skips manually given LBAs?

Example: You have a drive with defect LBAs From 50.000.000-60.000.000 and 120.000.000-121.000.000 and want to skip these ranges but all other (good) LBAs should work in ONE partition? It sounds easy but how to do so?

Thanks for your comments!
