We personally buy the same chemicals that Seagate, Maxtor and WD themselves use...it's engineered specifically for cleaning hard drive componentry...also, we don't often use it, but we have some of the coating to reduce stiction as well. There are different grades from the very lightest to stronger blends. However, we are in the process of acquiring a microsnow machine which preceded the PS6k units and hopefully will have one of them shortly.

We used to use IPA. Lately we've switched to special formulations made for this purpose. One is a coating for platters and the like , the other for cleaning. I thought the cleaner was IPA, but today I read the MSDS and it is called methoxynonafluorobutane with only small amount of IPA so I was totally wrong there...the coating is mostly methylnonafluorobutyl ether, methylnoafluroisobutyl ether and a fluoroalphatic polymer "trade secret" (actually what it says...on the label...seriously)...just FYI.
