Yep. Maybe pin 1 is not the tx pin? Sometime when I insert the the tx wire into the serial adapater I do get the tx led light but I dont know whats causing it. I checked and rechecked all my wiring and they are fine. The only thing I can think of is that maybe there is an issue with the zif to ide adapter not providing enough power or ground to the hard drive.
