HDRC UPDATE: Read Write Head Change Tools Review

It's great that everyone is shareing their experience with thease tools. Does anyone else have any comments about the Head Exchange tool(not Platter)?
I am considering ordering a set and would like to hear more feedback about this tool and your sucess with it.

Also, has anyone tried the Spindle Motor Replacement Tool?

we got the head changer tools and they work great on mostly any drives.
our business in the uk is very happy and the tools have been well design

better then any others i have seen on the net.


the spindle motor replacment tool is still in testing not for sale as yet.

its the must have tool for your data recovery needs

I did repost the pictures from pcrecovery links, they were on the forum for us all to see. I should have posted the links also, thanks Dick for posting them.

The forum must have a software version that has code problems. Dimitry is there an update to phpBB for a better (no bugs) version, or where this problem is fixed.

I would like to clarify that this forum has nothing to do with images hosted on other servers . I mean, there are NO issues with the forum, and I have no control over other servers that someone could use to host pictures.

There are two ways to resolve these issues:

1) Talk to the support desk of the website that you use to host pictures - the issue is on their end
2) Or just upload pictures to the forum (there is a special button, you can easily locate it).

Ah i thought it could be a forum phpBB bug, seems you must have looked into that Dmitry.

I suggested for large quality pictures one picture per post, that way it should show. As can see from my posts above this doesn't work. Agree check host setup or upload to forum. If upload to forum there will be a size issue, like all forums which is of no use.

As it means no high quality pictures so that we can see all the picture in detail. Can't explain why two pictures from the same host shows perfect on the forum. But the other two don't show at all. Well they did when i reposted the links for pcrecovery. On next visit here they had gone. But could still view them using picture links direct to the host. Could it be a problem on the host maybe, only pcrecovery will know the answer.

Again, there are no "size issues" with this forum (or any other issues)... Come on people... what should I do so that you at least try it?

It is the first time i have heard of such a problem on this forum. It's likely the host the server or the isp of the pictures where the problem originates. Dmitry I do not know what you can do. I know nothing of web php html scripting, building or designing. I'm at a loss, and can try guess no more help with this.

Lets not make this an issue until pcrecovery says here if he has found the problem.

After all this i hope it does not stop pcrecovery from showing us, quality pictures of his dr work tools.

I can confirm the links are still working but there is a slight problem in accessing the images using ie7.
When you open the link in a new window there is a not found error.
But if you then refresh the address bar contact with the server is made and the file can be downloaded.
It must be some kind of timeout error at the image server end! Nothing to do with hddguru!

I recently ordered a set based on your recommendations here on the forum. Although it's a little bit costly for a few peaces of plastic, its functionality is good. I tried it on a few drives over the last few days and it definitely makes things easier.

the problem with salvation data is that the platters can fall out if your not careful

but with these tools it looks like you screw the platters in so they can never move.

i know its basic but its the ideas that has gone into this tool.

salvation data are bringing out a new hpe recovery for spacers in hard drives.

hold the metal friction fit piece to the plexiglas
hold the screw-catch metal piece to the plexiglas

No screws hold the platters. That is why this is desperate, last chance junk for those who haven't figured out other methods of bypassing spacers. The friction fit is iffy at best, and only gets worse over time. Salvation's tool has a much better, more consistent, more reliable grip on the platters.
