Hello,
As i know, there is no real good solution.
The refurbishing/recertifying are more levels, and not the all showed up on the stickers.

It also depends on which company has refurbished the drive.
If it is seagate, they usually have a green or blue border around the label with the words 'Factory Refurbished' or something like that.
Hitachi + WD are usually (or used to be) refurbished by MDT so if the drive has an MDT (Magnetic Data Technologies) label on it, then it is refurbished.

thnak you very much. the WD still has the WD label but there is a piece cut out of the label. I have no idea why but i think the Ebay seller is hiding something for whatever reason and i still think its refurbished and thats why the piece out of the label is cut out. What do you think?
