This tool was pointed out to me today; has anyone here seen or heard of this one before?

They make some interesting claims

Computer Science Labs’ Research & Development in this field has enabled me to offer my customers data recovery on even the most severe types of drive failure. On average I receive 20 drives a month suffering from a bearing failure; SERT’s success rates have meant that those previously irrecoverable drives now have a fighting chance of successful recovery.

I know John posts here. Perhaps he can share his thoughts.

The fact that they are resellers of SD tools should be a red flag to anyone...

Thank you for posting a link to the SERT video.

We are a reseller of SalvationDATA recovery tools, however SERT has been developed in-house by Computer Science Labs technicians.

If you have any questions regarding SERT, please contact me directly on info@computersciencelabs.com as the forums aren't actively monitored.

(HDD Spaz, why do you say "4 years to late" We are receiving new seagate drives daily with stuck spindles 7200.11 .12 .ES2 ect. This mostly occurs when the drive was dropped - some in external casings. This is a great tool and worth every cent. I have recovered 7 to 8 out of every 10 HDD's.

I believe he means 4 years too late for him, and some others who have likely discovered their own technique for dealing with these drives by this time.

Unfortunately I have not had the time, or resources for self R&D, so this solution is interesting to me

Regards,

Maybe I am wrong, but werent the two seagates from 7200.10 family? Yet in Device Manager, the HDD identified as a ST31000.... 1TB seagate? I was under impression that 7200.10 only went to 750GB....

I'd believe you if you had more than one post. What was wrong with the one you couldn't fix?

Hi HDD Spaz - I had to open a new account as I did not use the previous one for a very long time and could not remember the username. Like I said before, most of the drives we receive with stuck spindles, were dropped. The ones I could not recover had platter damage.

It's nice to be on the forum. Nice to meet you all.

Or is it so expensive that they have to employ sales methods like those guys who sell craftmatic beds or whatever they are, timeshare and stannah chairlifts. Absolutely no prices given until you've sat through hours of hard sell?

No offence Sejal, I'm sure you've been instructed not to release pricing to all and sundry.
