I would like to keep the post a couple back where I quoted Doomer and _dex_, but I would rather keep this thread true to _dex_'s content and I will start another thread for each of the SSDs I am looking at.
I don't want _dex_ and Doomer's work to be buried in a long meandering off topic thread.
If a Moderator wants to delete the above post with 2 pictures(or not) is fine by me. I will only post here again if it is very on topic.

I'm certainly not the expert, but those seven plated wholes are pretty suspect.
Assuming just a two sided board it looks like at least six of them have traces.
Could be jTAG, and, or, serial there.
Meter them out. See if some have the typical 3.3 or 1.8v logic levels.

If you're testing the waters, here is a JTAG
identification tool (JTAGenum) for US$3, delivered.
JTAGulator vs. JTAGenum, Tools for Identifying JTAG Pins in IoT Devices:
https://www.praetorian.com/blog/jtagulator-vs-jtagenum-tools-for-identifying-jtag-pins-in-iot-devices?edition=2019What are some other differences between the two options?
As far as hardware differences go the JTAGulator has built in level conversion and input protection. This is why I am releasing a shield for the Arduino which provides the exact same capabilities. The open hardware designs for the shield are available here:
