It seems that the drive has additional issues. It should have not clicked if it was just a pcb issue, given the pcb was compatible.

Do some search on preamp on the forum.

if it clicks and spindown can be also rom version mismatch with ATA module (mod11), you need proper tools to check it and fix it.

How do you know it is compatible? ROM contains no adaptive info, but ROM version should still match.

I agree. But is impossible to rule out preamp at this stage. But HDD powers donor PCB so this is good.

@m-zero What are full details of your HDD?

my hdd is wd3200jb-00kfao
i am sure that it is a rom version issue because the hard clicks and then spindown (shuts of)
the new pcb has the same numbers but it wasn't for the same drive (320 gb) so all i need is the firmware because rom chip is burnt and can't extract the firmware from it , if any one has the compatible firmware so i can dowbload it on the new pcb please .

and thanks 4 all of u

ROM chip is burnt? That's unusual. Can you post a picture of your PCB?

Agree.

Roms usually works lower voltage than 5V, so usually stay good.
If your ROM is really burned, i think 99%, your preamp is gone as well.

Most of as have the needed firmware verion, but your drive have UNIQUE (exact drive specific) data on this PCB.
You _must_ transfer this information OR pay for a company who can re-create these information.

Without this, we can't help for you.
