How can i Password Protect an Internal Western Digital Hard Disk Drive. I have read somewhere that Hard Drives have an inbuilt feature inside them whereby they can be password protected. It is similar to the "SMART" Feature being inbuilt inside the Hard Drives.

ALL TIPS WILL BE HIGHLY APPRECIATED !!!

I suggest the easiest way for you to enable this feature, is to use your PC / laptop BIOS settings to set the hard disk password, as einstein9 mentioned. You would then need to enter this password each time you boot the PC.

Note that this type of password protection is not guaranteed to prevent access to the data on this disk by someone else, if they have the necessary knowledge and physical access to the disk.

No - password protection is nothing like SMART. You can learn more about SMART in many places, including some basics on Wikipedia.

An ATA password is easily defeated. Instead I would suggest something like TrueCrypt.

TrueCrypt - Free Open-Source On-The-Fly Disk Encryption Software:
