Does anyone know if, and if so, how, to convert a Dell Enterprise 10TB SATA drive from being a Dell Equalogic compatible drive into one that is Dell Compellent compatible.
My limited understanding is that the phyiscal drives are identical, but the firmware flashed in them is what varies, and thus the controllers they plug into can accept or reject them.
I unfortunately have a batch of Equalogic drives that my Compellent is refusing to use do to the firmware
I've seen a post from @FreddyK that vaguely outline a process to turn a traditional drive into an Equalogic drive, but I'm not wise enough to know if this can be used to for
If someone can help, I would appreciate any detailed advice, and/or there is a chance for some gig income here to accomplish it.
