new data recovery machines which one is good

June 10th, 2008, 19:32

i need to know if the following recovery machines are any good for data recovery.
i like the ideal of reverse copy and allso other options of targetting the files system itself

not sure which one to go for as the only one that has reverse copy is the ninja forensic

i allso came across this machine from a company called DeepSpar

they are selling a machine called DeepSpar Disk Imager Data Recovery Edition

but im just thinking its for doing a cloan of the hard drive itself nothing more.

the other one is the atola insight now this look very well made
but will it work 100% as its in the beta test and is a little bit expensive on the side.
bonus is that it can repair the firmware if its corrupted

product code Y-1659FJ Ninja-F

Product Code: J-IN1000 The Atola Insight

Product Code: Y-1659 Ninja

i also see the web of Deepspar. i like their concept of Data Recovery. the product Disk Imager, i think just like the Power Data Extractor. when BIOS can see our HD we can use this tool to copy all the data even the windows can't see.

but if the BIOS can't see the HD, this tool out of work in my opinion.

it does sound good but the qeastion is
is it really worth the money im not total sure why i would want to see the hex in the program.
so i know if there any data there being copied or its just a blank space

im looking into the ninja -f version as it can do reverse copying
but again deepspar does the same.
but this other version is a lot cheaper $2,000

this Ninja-f looks like its does a lot more

here a qeastion about your Power Data Extractor if windows can not see the hard drive
or the bios itself

how does your tool see the hard drive itself when other can not

if a hard drive is not seen in the computer or bios
its more likely going to be a firmware problems or a damaged logic board or damaged preamp head.

Oh, if the hard drive is not seen in the computer bios. Then our Power Data Extractor doesn’t work. So clients need our HD Doctor that repairs the HD. So that the hard drive can be seen by computer. Then the data can recovery.

Our new product—DE will launch. This DE can not only diagnostic, repair but also do data recovery. We will add some data recovery software in it so that this tool can do more.

You will need a multitude of software and hardware to provide full service data recovery.

(1) YEC Ninja or similar "black box" disk copier
(2) PC-3000 UDMA - disk analysis, diagnostic, firmware repair, data recovery
(3) Atola Insight - NEW, disk analysis, diagnostic and repair (firmware) etc
(4) X-Ways Winhex or other advanced filesystem/disk file utility
(5) Some physical implements such as head spacers/combs, platter removers, anti-static screwdrivers, laminar flow workstation/clean area, soldering iron with SMD rework
(6) EPROM Programmer/reader with adaptors for SMD proms
and
(7) A PC to connect (1), (2), (3) and (6) and run (4)

There is not one tool that can do all...

Thats the name of the game, I'm afraid
