Wanted: Barracuda 7200.9 300GB

I had this hard drive set aside for some time but it worked before I took it out. It shows up in BIOS but not windows. It clicks repeatedly on regular (and fast) intervals. I'm looking for advice or an identical drive to swap parts from. I'm also wondering if I would be able to do this myself or if someone here would take my cash in exchange for their services.

I only want it alive long enough to mirror the data.

We can only advise for this drive if you post here the terminal log.

If it's een in the BIOS, but clicking, 99% certain you have at least one bad bad head(s).

The good news is that the SA is almost certainly OK, if it's seen correctly in BIOS. Heads need to be changed.

You will not be able to do this on your own (assuming you don't have a clean room, head change tools and years of DR expernience). I have done loads of these.
