The little part of the fw is on the pcb but in your case this part is unique, not exchangeable, the most is on the platter.
The answer is: It depends on the problem.....

Then there is 2 option:
1. preamp (chip inside the clean area) burned, the recovery will be expensive
2. The recovery will be cheap if you find the good company for this.... Much less than the price what you have wrote....
