Buy/sell hard drives, parts, tools

I am looking to unlock my Hitachi Travelstar laptop hard drive.
It is an IDE model.
Any method is welcomed I do not need any data on the drive cause the drive came out of a laptop that I got for scrap parts.
Problem is I don't wish to spend much as I can purchase one for cheap.
I don't expect anything for free but maybe if I could keep the price to half of the 50bux it would cost me with shipping included I will be a happy camper. I have spent many days looking for a method the only thing I get is PC-3000 and people claiming they can unlock drives without it but never really giving out any great hints.
I have been gathering info though so if I find a method before I get someone to offer it I will surely make sure I share the info.
I was shocked at the lack of tools and support for unlocking ATA Passwords... And the manufacturers arrogance of not giving a master password out to IT folks... I am a certified IT worker and intend to stop throwing my locked hard drives in the trash.
Thank you all I am sure many of you have walked the same line I have with ATA password.
I am half tempted to take some strong magnets to the drive and see what happens...
