I definitely need it. Can't find this firmware anywhere, apparently not too common. I have corrupted modules on 41, 42, 43, 49, and 03. All of which are unique to the drive, but the deepspar folks said this family is usually ok to swap these modules, as long as the firmware is identical. Please let me know when and if you can upload.

Einstein,
I'm relatively new to this, so forgive my ignorance. I can't tell from your list which firmware is which. On Western Digitals I tend to just open module 11 and read the version number there. You do have a matching model number, including the last 6 characters, which I *think* means the firmware would also be the same, but regrettably I don't know for sure. If you do have that exact firmware, I'd love to get my hands on it.

Thanks for the upload, but it didn't work. It seems to be the right firmware, so perhaps the capacity matters. Since it is adaptive data, it's probable every little thing matters.

Thanks for trying, networkpc3k. Anyone else want to throw their hat in the ring to help a fella out? I'd sue appreciate it.

Hi,
You can not use modules 4x and 03 from another disk !
You have to rebuild the damaged modules...
PS Did you read bad modules using composite read ignoring errors...?

Mikippp,
Believe me I tried. Composite reading by ABA failed. Nothing returned that I could even open and try editing. Had to read by ID, couldn't get anything off that way either.

It is true that those are listed as unique adaptive data, but I was talking with Yarek at Deepspar who said with this family they usually have good luck with identical firmware.

The firmware has been copied over, did it work? Hard to say because the original ROM is corrupted too. Gonna try a rebuild from the SA next. We'll see!

Einstein,
The one you had highlighted would be the one I need. WD3200AAJS-22L7A0. Providing it is that firmware revision of course. If you send it I can always check it out.

Thanks!

You overwrote the original bad mods with some new ones? This was not a good move, now there is no chance of recovering the originals

drc,
It seemed there was already no chance. As I said above, could not access those modules in any way shape or form. The Deepspar guys (who have never steered me wrong) suggested this as pretty much the only alternative. A 'try it and see' approach. That said, they did say this had worked on this family in the past.

Whatever the result, this is for a friend, not client, and while he would love to get the stuff back, it's not critical. A month of pictures or something since the last backup.

Einstein, thanks!

Thanks for the ROM. Any chance you can post the firmware as well? DeepSpar is not convinced of the ROM corruption (only I was, and I'm an idiot). They think the firmware adaptives coming from a different capacity drive is more likely the problem.

Thanks again for the help!

Hi,
 BytesBack
Backup the firmware modules from the smooth drive, and replace 03 and 4x modules with modules from another disk, and see for yourself what happens...
