Yes we figured this out- the hard way.

Problem is this is a low-budget recovery and we are SUSPECTING a vcm failure on the pcb, therefore we are not willing to pay much for it (in case it is not a PCB problem)..

I just posted in case someone has a spare one and would like to sell for a fair price.
